Pente is a strategic board game that offers a challenging gameplay experience. Similar to the classic game Gomoku, Pente introduces some unique twists. In Pente, you can achieve victory not only by placing five stones in a straight continuous line (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) but also by getting more than five stones in a row.
Pente allows you to capture your opponent's stones by enclosing a pair of their stones. So, if your opponent's stones are arranged as XOO and you strategically place your stone to create XOOX, their stones will be removed from the board. A captivating feature of Pente is the ability to win by capturing ten or more of your opponent's stones. However, it's important to note that you cannot play into a capture.
Although rated games follow the "Tournament Rule," which dictates that player one's second move must be at least three intersections away from the center of the board, various Pente variants offer additional rule variations:
<ul>
 <li>Keryo-Pente: Capture three stones in a row</li>
 <li>G-Pente: Similar to the Tournament Rule, with the added restriction of not playing on the 4th and 5th intersections away from the center that fall on the same horizontal or vertical line as player one's first move</li>
 <li>D-Pente: Begin by having player one place two white and two black stones, allowing player two to decide whether they want to play as player two or swap seats and become player one. The game then proceeds like regular Pente</li>
 <li>Poof-Pente: Notably distinct, as you can play into a capture, resulting in the removal of stones from the board and counting them as captures. Normal captures are also permitted, and the capture count required to win remains at ten stones. Additionally, after each move, the game checks for captured opponents' stones, poof positions, and whether a player has achieved a five-in-a-row victory</li>
 <li>Boat-Pente: In this variant, once a Pente (five stones in a row) is achieved, the game continues until the opponent can capture across the Pente. Capturing five pairs still results in a win, and rated games follow the Tournament Rule.</li>
</ul>
In addition to these exciting Pente variants, players can enjoy other classic games such as Connect6 and Go on various board sizes. Whether you prefer a large 19x19 board or smaller sizes like 13x13 and 9x9, there's something for everyone.
